Certified microcement installation in Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City's design community has caught up with what European architects have specified for two decades: seamless, handcrafted mineral surfaces. The problem has been finding a certified installer. Most microcement failures we're called to look at along the Wasatch Front come down to the same causes — wrong system for the substrate, no reinforcement in wet areas, skipped primer, or rushed dry times.

We install the Forcrete system through Microcement USA — certified training, engineered system structure, and materials with real manufacturer backing. Based in St. George, we schedule Salt Lake City installations as dedicated multi-day trips, which is how microcement should be installed anyway: each layer gets its full cure window, sanding between coats, no splitting attention between jobs.

What We Install

Every surface, one seamless system

Floors

Living areas, kitchens, hallways, stairs — continuous surfaces with no transitions, no grout, no breaks. Compatible with radiant heat when installed correctly.

Showers & Wet Rooms

Fully reinforced wet-area systems: waterproof primer, mesh reinforcement, hand-troweled finish coats, professional waterproof sealer. Over existing tile in most cases.

Walls & Feature Surfaces

Feature walls, fireplace surrounds, commercial interiors. Monolithic mineral finish at 2–3mm thickness — almost no added weight or build-up.

Countertops & Custom Pieces

Integrated sinks, vanity tops, and furniture pieces. Quoted by project — every piece is handcrafted and naturally unique.

Where we work in Salt Lake County

Where we work in Salt Lake County

East Bench & Federal Heights

Custom homes and architect-led remodels above the Avenues. Microcement floors and full-height feature walls suit the modernist builds this side of the valley is known for.

Holladay & Millcreek

Two of Utah’s strongest luxury remodel markets. Master bathroom conversions — seamless microcement showers and wet rooms over existing tile, no demolition in most cases.

Sugar House & 9th & 9th

Boutique commercial spaces, restaurants, and studios. Seamless microcement floors and counters that handle traffic and read as designed, not installed.

Downtown & The Avenues

Condo and penthouse interiors. Thin-build microcement adds almost no height or weight — ideal where floor build-up and structural load are constraints.

How It Works

How statewide installation actually works

Microcement is installed in layers over consecutive days — primer, build coats, reinforcement where required, finish coats, and sealer, with sanding and cure windows between. So a dedicated multi-day trip isn’t a compromise; it’s the correct way to install the system. We scope the project remotely with photos and dimensions, confirm substrate details, schedule the trip, and stay on your project until it’s sealed and done.

Travel is built into the quote upfront — no surprises. Project minimums apply for statewide trips, and we’re upfront about whether your project meets them before anyone commits to anything.

Common Questions

Microcement in Salt Lake City FAQ

Yes. Statewide projects are scheduled as dedicated multi-day trips — which suits microcement installation, since the system is applied in layers over consecutive days with cure windows between coats. Travel is built into the quote upfront. Project minimums apply for Wasatch Front trips; a single small accent wall usually isn't viable on its own, but a master bath, a floor, or a multi-surface project is.
The same system pricing we publish for all of Utah: walls and feature surfaces typically $18–$32 per square foot, floors $22–$40, showers and wet areas $30–$55. Salt Lake City projects carry a project minimum that covers travel and multi-day scheduling — we'll give you the exact number before you commit to anything.
That's our preferred way to work. We provide physical samples, attend site visits, review substrate and build-up requirements before the project breaks ground, and install to spec. If you're a designer specifying microcement for a Salt Lake City project, contact us early — substrate planning makes the difference.
In most cases yes — over tile, concrete, drywall, and cement board, after proper priming and with full mesh reinforcement and a waterproof sealer system in wet areas. No demolition in most cases. We confirm substrate condition before quoting.
